Cordless Tool Survey Results

Metabo conducted a blind survey of professional and do-it-yourself (DIY) tool users from
mid-April to the end of May 2009 ranking 10 important cordless power tool features in
anticipation of the company’s new 18 V lithium-ion cordless PowerMaster Series launch.

Metabo and the Top Three:

Tool Life and Durability
Respondents ranked tool life and durability the most important cordless power tool feature out of the 10 possible features presented. Metabo’s new 18 V lithium-ion PowerMaster Series cordless tools feature an aluminum die cast gear housing that provides optimum heat dissipation and superior durability, making the tools both rugged and lightweight.

Battery Service Life
Battery service life ranked second among tool users. Metabo’s new PowerMaster Series tools utilize Metabo’s new Electronic Single Cell Protection (ESCP) concept that allows for longer battery service life by electronically monitoring individual cells while in use, and during charging, to prevent damage.

Work Time Per Charge
Work time per charge rounded out the top three highest ranked features. The PowerMaster Series benefits from Metabo’s unique air-cooled charging technology that cools the lithium-ion battery pack during charging. This process shortens charging times by up to 30% to diminish tool down-time and boosts useable tool life per charge.
